Hullo, I’m Judy Bryant from Cape Town, South Africa.
I work as a publicist and travel writer, which takes me to fascinating cities and little-known rural villages. I’ve discovered cutting-edge Finnish design in Helsinki during its World Design Capital tenure, learnt about Indian cookery in Udaipur, ziplined in the Seychelles and explored ancient forts in Malta.
My travel articles have appeared in local and international publications such as Conde Nast Traveler, Elle Decoration, Business Day WANTED, airline magazines in South Africa, Kenya and India, Sunday Times Travel, South African Garden and Home, South African Country Life and the Mail & Guardian.
Do take a look at examples of my writing and photography (additional images were supplied for some articles by tourism bodies). While I’ve covered the costs of most of my trips, I’ve secured great media publicity for travel companies that have hosted me.
With an MBA and decades of writing and public relations experience, I also undertake corporate media communications and write annual reports, media releases, website copy, scripts and speeches. Creative industry clients have included the Craft + Design Institute (for which I co-authored a book on Western Cape craft producers), Design Indaba Conference, Cape Town Fashion Council, Elle Decoration and the African Creative Economy Conference. Corporate examples are Old Mutual, earth science consultancy Umvoto Africa and listed JSE companies. Not-for-profit clients have included Habitat for Humanity and the Cape Town Partnership.
